While the Philippines
has been notorious to have corrupt
and abusive state leaders, it is
also famous for being the home of
a dense, assertive, and resilient
civil society. With a state that
has often been deficient in meeting
the demands of its people, this sphere
of autonomous human action has not
hesitated to step up and fill the
void.
This will be the focus
of the upcoming Accountability Discussion
Series hosted by ASoG's Center for
Social Policy on 22 July 2008, Tuesday,
from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the CCS
Conference Room, CCS Building, Ateneo
de Manila University, Loyola Heights,
Quezon City. Guest speakers are former
DSWD Secretary Corazon "Dinky" Juliano-Soliman
and UP Professor Aries Arugay. |

Ten
of the registered students for MPM-PO9
were able attend the orientation
scheduled last Monday, 23 June 2008
at the Ateneo Professional Schools.
The orientation was facilitated by
Dr. Dennis Gonzalez, Associate Dean.
The students were then taken on the
tour of library and were also given
an orientation on the APS on-line
registration system. The School expects
other members of the class to join
the first session of the first module
on Ethics on June 28.
