Services and trading activities dominate the economic landscape of Tacurong City accounting for about 96% of the establishments included in the masterlist.

b.      Number of establishments by classification

Micro Business enterprises dominate the economic activity of Tacurong City accounting for 76.26% of the number of registered establishments in the masterlist. Barangay Micro Business level account for almost 15% while Small, Medium and Large account for barely 5% of the total number of establishments.

c.      Number of establishments by employment [(to include employment and underemployment)

In terms of employment, the Micro business sector account for the bulk of employment opportunities in the City. This can be seen in both the number of employees based and capital/ gross sales based analysis. More than 90% of the establishments reported having less than 10 employees accounting for 62.50% of the employment positions.

d.      Revenue trend for past 3-5 years for business permit and other revenues

Business Tax Collection increased with an average of 9% over previous year between year 2000 to 2004 while Real property Tax Collection had a higher annual rate of increase of 26% over previous year.
